Following our earlier post on Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 lineup, revealed at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, the Galaxy S25 Edge has gained attention for its ultra-thin profile and flagship potential. Initially thought to be a thinner version of the Galaxy S25, the S25 Edge has now been confirmed, with leaks revealing details about its design and specifications, drawing the attention of tech enthusiasts. Its sleek design has made it a topic of discussion ahead of its official release.
Ice Universe, a well-known Samsung tipster, revealed a new leak. GSMArena reported that Ice Universe disclosed certain features of the next Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge that may disappoint some consumers. According to his Weibo post, the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor as its main camera, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The S25 Edge will feature a 12MP ultrawide camera but will lack a dedicated telephoto lens, limiting zoom functionality to the main 200MP sensor. While the 200MP sensor seems impressive, the absence of a telephoto lens may restrict users seeking more flexibility in zooming and framing distant subjects.
In addition to camera specifications, the leak mentions the device’s battery and design. The Galaxy S25 Edge will have a 3,900mAh battery, which could disappoint those seeking a larger power cell. However, the device’s thinner design will likely compensate for the smaller battery. Ice Universe revealed that the Galaxy S25 Edge will measure 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm, which is significantly thinner than initially expected, with early speculations suggesting a thickness of 6.4mm.
The phone’s slim profile helps explain the smaller battery size, as the compact design requires a reduction in battery capacity. Ice Universe explains that adding a telephoto lens would have caused a large camera bump, ruining the phoneโs slim design. While the S25 Edge may not have the most innovative camera functionality, its ultra-thin design may make it an appealing choice for consumers who prefer portability and aesthetics. As with any leaks, information is subject to change, and fans must wait for official releases to confirm the final specifications.
